Just a quick post to celebrate last Sunday's championship win by Alex Buncombe, Katsumasa Chiyo, and Wolfgang Reip with the GT Academy Team RJN Nissan GT-R GT3. They started the final race nine points down on the leading Audi team but a sterling drive brought them home third with enough points to take the title in the top-level PRO category of the Blancpain Endurance series. Things looked good for a GT-R race win as well with the Always Evolving car leading by a massive margin early but a safety car obliterated their hard-earned lead and ultimately a Mclaren took the checker.

In any case third was enough to earn the driver's title, adding to a successful season for the GT-R so far after the historic Bathurst 12 hour win in February also by Chiyo and Reip but with Florian Strauss as third driver. With GT-R drivers in the lead of both GT500 and GT300 in the closing stages of Super GT here's hoping Godzilla can add more titles to the haul this year!
